Eileen R. Heisman, ACFRE, is the president and CEO of National Philanthropic Trust, the largest national donor-advised fund sponsor and one of the top 25 grantmaking organizations in the U.S. Since its founding, National Philanthropic Trust has raised more than $10 billion and granted more than $5 billion to charities around the world. Eileen is a nationally-recognized expert on donor-advised funds, charitable giving and China’s growing philanthropy sector. Eileen authors the annual “Donor-Advised Fund Report,” the industry’s authority on the state of donor-advised fund giving.
She is currently a member of the faculty at Leadership Philadelphia, as well as an adjunct faculty member at the University of Michigan’s School of Social Work graduate program and a lecturer at the University of Pennsylvania’s School of Social Policy and Practice. She is a regular lecturer for the Nonprofit Board Leadership Program at the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School and a member of the Governance Committee for the Nonprofit Leadership Program at the University of Pennsylvania’s School of Social Policy and Practice. She was among the first fundraising professionals to earn the distinguished ACFRE certification.
Eileen has been interviewed about philanthropy and donor-advised funds on CBS, CNBC, PBS, NPR, CNN and Bloomberg TV, and by nearly every national newspaper and major trade publication, including The Wall Street Journal, New York Times, Washington Post, Bloomberg, CBS MarketWatch, Financial Advisor and Investment News.
